As soon as you can confirm TG ID's please do submit them so we admins can add them to the DB... Also, are you hearing TDMA, or FDMA on those?

I have found my IDs that I went to listen to but they only come through when I hold on the id. If I'm searching they will not come in. Others will like New Albany MHP and MDOT work fine on scan just some don't. I'm using a regular quarter wave trunk lip mount VHF antenna. Is that the problem? If so you wouldn't think ones further away would work. Is it a setting? Any suggestions?

I picked up 50000 and 50006 during ID search, but didn't know what they were. Thanks for that info. Also have picked up a few other TG's, but haven't been able to ID them either.

It sounds like you don't have the service type enabled that you have assigned to the talkgroup. If you manually enter the TG's, they default to "Custom1". If you haven't changed that to Law Dispatch, it sounds like Custom1 isn't enabled.

50000 is Corinth Police and 50006 is Alcorn County Sheriff

They were set to Law Talk. Question what's the difference why does it matter what service types do?

Thanks guys

Service Types help you select or avoid certain types of agencies. For example, if you had no interest in Business, you would not enable that service type. So you need to check to see if Law Talk service type is enabled. The next time you download from the database, these will be changed to Law Dispatch,so you need to be sure that is enabled. Select Service types

ok I have changed the ones to match up with what the data base reads. So basically Law Dispatch service types will enable them to come through while scanning? while some other service types doesn't allow them to come through? Something like that?

What it does is enable you to turn entire services off and on. For example, you can turn off all service types except for Law Dispatch, and that's all that will scan...you won't hear any fire, ems, business, etc...

That's why each item you listen to needs to have the correct service type assigned, otherwise if you have the wrong service type assigned to a frequency, you could accidently have it disabled, along with other items you intentionally have turned off.

From the e-mails I get, its showing on software as TDMA Capable, but has been mainly FDMA thus far. Byram PD has just started using TDMA after being on the system for quite some time now. Forrest county is only showing FDMA thus far, though that set of sites has not fully been integrated as of yet. Willing to bet it pretty much will be the same when DeSoto, Lee, Lamar, and others convert.

In reference to Lee, I heard them some on MSWIN right after the Tornado hit Tupelo, but haven't heard the S.O. on there since. I recently started hearing Tupelo PD, though it seems in a limited capacity, since I'm only hearing the main channel and haven't heard either their TAC or car to car yet. They are definitely operating phase 2. I'm also hearing traffic on one TG that by all indications so far, is for Union County S.O.

I have about 17 more TG's yet unidentified as well... not a great lot of traffic on them, and what there has been hasn't included any identifying info.

That is actually proof that they are indeed going to convert the old analog into MSWIN. They already have MSWIN radios, and use them. Good info Bama! Once you positively have the LCSO, LCEMA, TPD, TFD etc.. TG's Id'ed as far as whats in use now, submit them please so we can add the data. Now if we could get ears in Central MS... Copiah SO, Lincoln SO, Crystal Springs PD, and FD, Copiah EOC, Copiah County Shcools, Jackson City Schools, Clinton PD and possibly FD very soon. Just to name a few. All need found as they are all using MSWIN to some extent.

Forgive my confusion. Which scanners will monitor Phase II? Just the two new Unidens? How about the PSR-800?
