did as you suggested deleted a file named as type configuration settings being i could not find 1 with the extension .ini worked in psredit500 i was able to download the from the scanner but psrcontrol is still a no go
it will not detect the scanner

The Configuration Settings file would have been the correct file to delete. Could you send that file to me mbvv@wideopenwest.com so that I can take a look at it? I'm not sure why it wouldn't work at this point.
