Hello,
I hope this makes sense but I'd like to know the following:
If I live in Cuyahoga county for example, and I add the MARCS system to a scanlist for Cuyahoga county, can I simply add only the talk groups for that county to receive only that area or do I have to add every single county group that falls under the whole Ohio MARCS system?

is it a base scanner or a hand held scanner i live in Parma
all you have to do is add the 4 control channels for cuyahoga county and what talkgroups you like to monitor thats it.

The simple answer to your question is yes. But, Cuyahoga County is such a vast area with split communities, some using GCRCN and some MARCS, depending on what you are talking about listen to requires some preplanning on your part. For programming my Whistler I have split Cuyahoga County up into multiple ScanList, combining GCRCN, MARCS, Parma systems into the ScanList. For instance I have -

Cuyahoga East
Cuyahoga West
Cleveland
Cuyahoga General (those entities that are across he County, i.e. RTA)
Cuyahoga Southeast
Cuyahoga Southwest

In this manner I can me more selective in what I want to monitor.

As a for instance, the City of Euclid Pd is GCRCN, Euclid Fire is MARCS.
