I'm less than a mile from the Franklin/Licking County in Ohio. I mainly listen to Columbus Fire and East burbs on the Franklin County 800 Mhz system. I also listen to Reynoldsburg PD on UHF & West Licking FD/Monroe Twp FD on VHF.

Would love to monitor OHIO MARCS, but unsure how to program and what kind of scanner to get. Please help. The SO just switched over to MARCS to last week so I am in desperate need of help. Thanks alot. PM me if needed and I can give you my email address.

You can bet that Lake Co public safety is transmitting somewhere. What specifically do are you saying is "down" ?

I'm sure he means the Lake County Feed on Radioreference/Scanamerica....It was actually up late last night, but when I woke up this morning it was down again. I think the feed provider is just having some technical issues. My guess is it will be back up sometime soon.

And since I never did technically post in this thread: I'm in Ashtabula County. I usually monitor MARCS, Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, and Trumbull Counties. When I'm staying with friends in Wickliffe, I'll also monitor some of Cuyahoga County, as well as the Ontario Fleetnet and Chatham-Kent (when conditions are right).

Makes sense. Thanks for clarifying that.

This is houseboatdon in Stark County. I monitor Stark, Summit, Wayne, Holmes, Tuscarawas and Carroll counties, As well as Ohio Marcs.

Welcome Don. You are monitoring some territories that aren't well represented here. Hopefully you can give us the scoop on any new action in Carroll / Tusco / Holmes. I know of just a few people that monitor those areas.

Hey all, new to the forum, and pretty new to scanning.

I live in Hancock County (Findlay), I listen to Hancock Sheriff, City of Findlay Police and Fire, HANCO/MedCorp, OSP and other traffic Online. I have a Bearcat BC80XLT that I was using for storm spotting and mobile listening, but I need to upgrade to Digital and P25 for MARCS. I also travel to Carsile/Franklin Oh area often to visit my inlaws, so I usually take the mobile down there in the summer for anything 800mhz I can pick up.

I'm a former Industrial Firefighter, and HAZMAT Tech. Laid off for now, so I have plenty of downtime. I have tried getting on volunteer squads in the area, but can't because I live just a little too far into the city, and we don't have auxiliary for our city department.

I am an on/off listener, usually when I hear a lot of sirens or if I'm just really bored while surfing the net I'll listen in. I listen more often during the summer for storm info. I'm also a SKYWARN Spotter, but we don't get much to report on around here, High Winds and Flooding are the biggest concerns.

My first monitor receiver (before scanners) was a tunable Knight Kit low band VHF for OSP, about 1960. Their split frequency operation always made monitoring both sides of a transmission tough.

I monitor Mansfield PD, Richland Cnty. SO, Mansfield FD, Richland Cnty. Fire, Ontario and Lexington PD. Mostly when mobile. Looking at a BCD996XT so I can get back to OSP Post 70.
