I live in Ashland County and monitor most of the agencies in Ashland, Holmes, Wayne, Richland, and some in Knox. I am hoping to purchase a digital scanner soon so i can listen to Ohio MARCS. Right Now I have a Motorola CP200, a Uniden BC72XLT, and an older Radioshack base scanner

I'm in Stark County - Listen to MARCS - Stark County / City of Canton on their 800mhz system - Most police departments in area including Massillon, Canton, Brewster, North Canton, Navarre. Same with the fire departments, including most of the Volunteer Depts. including NorthLawerence. I also monitor traffic from KZOB ARTCC which of course comes from CLE. Also listen to CAK APP (EAST / WEST). Monitor Tuslaw High School / Massillon High School / Jackson High School / Perry High School. Stark Road Department - AEP - Ohio Edison, just to name a few. I have the PRO-2096 and love it - PACKED full of Freq's. Use the ARC96 software to program - again, love it!

I live in Gallipolis and have a pro-106 scanner and I am looking to get settings for 53 SO. Cannot seem to pickup meigs conv. freqs very well. If you have tg numbers for marcs SO 53 please send them to me. dmoore2@suddenlink.net Dick

If SO 53 were known it would be the database by now. That area is lightly populated with hobbyists, so it make take some time to nail that one down.

Thanks Mark: I have been trying the wildcard but not private. The area I live in has many hills and Meigs county has four tower sites but with the antenna on the hand held doesn't seem to get it. Have been looking around for a better antenna but probably have to go to the outside, not to good for a hand held. Maybe go with 2 meter ant. Will keep trying and thanks---73's Dick Moore, N8FQY

Dick,

A 2 Meter antenna will do nothing to help with MARCS reception.
Go to Radio Shack and pick up their 800 MHz Duckie $19.95. It will
perform far better on 800 MHz than the stock antenna.

If you need all around coverage then check some of the amateur radio outlets for the Diamond RH77CA or an equivalent.
