Does anyone know whether any of the old analog TRS (Cobb, DeKalb, Atlanta, or Gwinnett) are still active and if so, are they still used by anyone? I can't imagine any jurisdictions these days keeping these legacy systems up and running but who knows - Homeland Security has money.

I know Gwinnett doesn't. They kept it up for a couple of months when the new system went online a little over two years ago. Not up at all anymore.

Let's see....

Cobb - Not positive I beleive all the channels were moved in to the P25 system. May still be a couple of analog up, but I thought they were going away when they rebanded...

Atlanta - Was at City Hall East, System was dismantled and parted out shortly after they moved to the new facility.

DeKalb -- System was dismantled shortly hafter the P25 cut over. Water dept has the last user I knew of.

Gwinnett - Gone, but I have no idea what or when..

I heard rummor, but have no facts to support them, that the P25 contracts required the smartnet systems be shut down and sold off / back to MSS as parts.

Fulton & Marta are it right now..

As I was heading out of town I noted the Cobb analog system still had a control channel up. Didn't note any details or spend any time on it.

Cobb's analog system is still up (sys ID 0920), I think it's down to only 5 channels. Every now and then you will hear fire dispatch pop up, sounds like a multiselect and it seems to coincide with either some station alert failure or Cherokee county needing to talk to them (no digital radio in cherokee's MCV?)

It was in use during the state fair, I saw Powder Springs PD explorers toting old MTS2000's. The old disaster 1-4 are usually used for such events.

Other than that, it stays quiet with the control channel idling. The state DOAS system is also up and quiet with an idle control channel as all the users on the Atlanta site have moved to the Atlanta DTRS. Douglasville's analog system now idles quietly as Douglasville moved over to the Cobb DTRS.
