You're joking.... right?

Just wanted to see if it can be added to the FAQ for new users.

I know that is about these computer scanners to pick up these new channels, but want to know if this is owned or operared by some goverment or business or maybe just by a group or 1 person who is interested in scanners & all of this stuff. See I do not want to get in to or bother the fire/rescue or police, so a little information does not hurt.

Thanks

:D

I think what would help you more than knowing who is running this website is knowing what you can and cannot do with your scanner.

It is legal to listen to almost every transmission your scanner can receive. However, there are some transmission (according to U.S. law) you should never listen to intentionally.

These include:
- Telephone conversations (cellular, cordless, ect.)
- Pager transmissions
- Any scrambled or encrypted transmissions

There are a couple of things that you eveidently didn't bother to read when you signed up for the site. :?

You might want to go back to the home page and sort of look over those items listed down the left side of the page.

Now as to adding to the FAQ...Well that is a little tough, you see there isn't a FAQ here at RadioReference.com. Those of us who hang out a lot here just love anwsering the same questions over and over, so we didn't want an FAQ. It gives us something to do.

I did but no ABOUT there & I will look @ it again, I read things but scroll too fast as in NOT having my mouse on the ^ \/ arrows to scroll.

True, most FAQ's on some sites do not even really answer anything also what if people want to know more, I was told by someone to ask. But I do not want to step 'ouch' on anyone or interfear on anyone. See I once [log time back] got in trouble for getting on an area were I was not allowed so I started to ask first.

These days with things going to MDC [FIRE/RESCUE,POLICE + OTHER PUBLIC SAFETY], I do not want to get on any EMERGENCY fourm or to do anything to get me kicked off. I got kicked off of a few sites [+ BBS's when they were around back before the Internet] because of some people not wanting me on them in the first place [being rude & nasty - :p ].

I guess the main thing is in asking someone first before doing it, also people can tell you if it is a restricked area or not. I just do not want to get kicked off this site.

I could $ pay for it, but do not have the money [fixed income & no paying job].

So thanks.

If I get in the wrong area I will send them to you [LOL], but this site is interesting to read & post & I guess when we ask questions why need a FAQ when we can get live answers to live questions :p ?
