Oneonta and 154.3475 ?

I've been monitoring 154.3475 here in an attempt to figure out something local-ish, but tonight I've heard multiple dispatches (with 186.2 tone) of "station 5" to various locations. The most recent was to "36 Hillcrest Circle ... near 6th Street South ..."

This seems to fit: Google Maps

I don't see any FCC license data for that frequency in Blount County, nor is anything reasonably close enough to it shown here: Blount County, Alabama (AL) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Anyone in/around Oneonta able to confirm that it's coming from there?

what your hearing is prob 154.355 which is blount co fire 2 . your radio must either be set to 6.25 steps or your fairly close to the repeater sites at palisades park and smokerise the correct pair is 153.830/154.355. station 5 is cleveland

This is on a BCD996P2 scanner in north Tuscaloosa County, so no, definitely not close. I don't usually hear *anything* on that frequency, so this was surprising.

fcc uls also show that freq 154.3475 licenesed to CARROLLTON maybe there station
deff blount co 911 . must have been on heck of a band opening lol . but the repeater is on a tower on top of a mountain .

It's not Carrollton (Pickens County). That's why I've been listening - to see if they actually use it for anything.
I guess it was indeed a band opening - it was clear as a bell when it was coming through.

yup thats blount county strange but its possible

Well, I'm at a pretty good elevation (~450 AMSL) and have another 40 feet above that for the antenna, but I still wouldn't expect the signal to be strong enough at 7.5 kHz away at this distance absent good propagation conditions. 6m / VHF Low has been open a bit lately, so I'm guessing that's the culprit.
I've never heard anything on the frequency that I can attribute to Pickens County, so I suspect they don't use it any more (if ever).
