OPP antennas

Heard Radio Service do a Comms Check with Orillia on 2TAC05 via Fenelon tower today, and also on last Friday.
Mentioned he was in a garage, and had poor signal, so clearly mobile equipment being worked on.

Had a couple of Kawartha Lakes OPP vehicles park in front of the house which gave a good opportunity to look at the mobile antennas.
Whip antenna in the middle appears to be short and likely 700 MHz now instead of 411 MHz for VR.

The antennas used on OPP/EMS the vehicles are
1 1/4 wave 700MHS DVRS antenna,
2 1/2 wave VHF antenna (the loading coil on the base is not a NMO to threaded adapter) *need reverification on exact model used
3 2 in round 1/12 in high puck antenna for GPS
4 sharkfin antenna for the MPS(terminal)

144 MHz 1/4 wave antenna should be about 19.5" long, above the base insulator, including spring. (Mobile to Site)
410 MHz 1/4 wave antenna should be about 6.8" long, above the base insulator, including spring. (Old VR)
800 MHz 1/4 wave antenna should be about 3.5" long, above the base insulator, including spring. (New VR)

I thought the OPP cars used a Sinclair SW-2340SB-1?

Possibly a Larsen NMO GPS.... Do these photos look like the same GPS puck?

In my opinion Sinclairs online catalog sucks. One image containing 6 different antenna configurations, no detailed image/description of the various antenna base. I think we have satisfied our curiosity on the antennas. FYI the mobile radios are APX2500BN with E5 remote heads.

That's Interesting.... APX2500BN is a nice radio.. in VHF M24KSS9PW1BN
But AFAIK it only comes with the 02 control head. 512 or 1000 channels.
But hey, if you're buying 10-15,000 radios, I'm sure Moto lets you order off-menu

Re the OPP GPS antenna.... It occurs to me that these new radios will have WiFi clients and require an antenna for that.
Motorola AN000163A01 GPS+WiFi antennas is the Moto solution for that.

A typical use case is using Moto Radio Manager to push new firmware and codeplug to the mobile while it's parked in the parking lot at the office/detachment. An external/roof mounted antenna is likely needed to reach across the parking lot, particularly if the radio body is buried in the Explorer Utility floor pan area and covered with traffic cones, flares and misc junk.
