Depends on what type of storage drives you have and how they're set up and on how you use your PC, i.e. what programs you run and whether there is frequently reused data that would benefit from caching.
8 GB might be tight and force some of the Optane storage to act as your swap file. An SSD for the OS install and for application installs and for temporary data (like browser data caches, etc.) - or for everything if you can get by with only a 256 GB SSD, for example - would give you a snappier system. SSD plus some spinning rust for your extensive video collection, etc. would be the best way to go.
