I have a Uniden BC796D and I have had it for several years now. I primarily use it to receive the Connecticut State Police which is using a P25 Motorola System. I have done a buch of things to try and improve the receive of their system. I have a dedicated 800MHz antenna using RG58 cable for the scanner and it does not come in that great! I have checked the connector several times and it is fine. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? Is it worth for me to take the unit out and bring to have it tuned to the 800 band or what?

Thanks,
Nick

For one thing you are using the worse coax you could use, especially that high up the band it will really hurt your results. Try a better grade of coax like LMR400, or even RG6 would be an improvement.
