I live in the western part of Spotsy about 3 miles from the Orange County line. I’m picking up both Spotsy and Orange with no issues. Even hearing the Madison SO on the Orange system. Maybe the issue some were having was a one day thing. Who knows. For now, everything appears to be working normally.

I have reception issues on two 700 MHz systems on certain days (including today), depending on the weather. One is being monitored from outside its service area, the other is know to have limited coverage at my location (in a wooded area.) Bottom line is if you are monitoring from a location with marginal coverage, the weather can make a difference.

I am hearing Orange Medic 29 on the Spotsylvania MWH- Hear Talkgroup. They referred to this channel as "EMS1" Is anyone hearing anything equivalent on the Orange side? My initial thoughts are that they switch to a hospital zone on the radio and the MWH TG resides on the Spotsylvania System.

Yes, unfortunately.
ALL Orange County law enforcement has been encrypted since around the early 2000s, not sure exactly when. CHP is the only agency you will still be able to monitor. At least for the immediate future. But rumor has it that they, too, may eventually encrypt.
OOPS!!! I can't delete this post, but it seems that there is another "Orange County", than mine, here, in Southern CALIFORNIA!!!! :D:LOL:
