I have seen the osp on there in car repeaters on 465.3750. When listening to it I get here a beacon signal about every 3 seconds. Does anyone know if they use a PL tone so I don’t hear that beacon signal?

I know that the MREs in East Ohio for D4 use PL. Some places use DPL. I am fairly certain that MREs in all areas use either a PL or DPL.

I've never noticed any sort of "beacon" signal though. that's interesting.

Here in SW Ohio they use 465.550 PL. 123.0. The beaconing your hearing maybe the repeater switching back and forth between RX and TX sounds like a clicking sound. That’s the MRE hearing for a possible emergency button activation from the troopers radio.

thanks i was not aware it was set up like that. Next time i hear them i will have to do a PL search on it. This is mainly Post 72 and 87 and the turnpike all have the same frequency.
