From time to time computers and servers go down for some odd reason and there is nothing we can do about it except have backup disaster site but they have a mind of their own.

Somebody probably was using a back-hoe and dug up the fiber line to Amazon's Web services data center and said opps sorry.......

There was a time where the fiber lines that feed India from the West and some tanker ship dragged their anchor line and split the fiber lines that feed India and parts of the Middle East and took out data communication to the country. At least there was a backup line that feeds other parts of the country so they could get backup and running meantime until they could get to find the cut fiber lines to splice it back together which took a few months

A good company would just switch over to the other two feeders/backups. At my company, if we lose a feed, we have three others we can access. We switched over to our backup just because our team found they were digging up a street that feeds our main artery. It remained intact throughout the entire construction project, but we weren't about to take chances. This same abundance of caution is why we're now completely on our own power plant, in advance of the hurricane about to wallop the east coast. In this day and age, it's inexcusable not to have proper data feed backup. The Amazon outage was a major disaster, embarrassing.

As you are probably aware, we had an outage today that lasted almost 5 hours, due to our primary hosting provider (Amazon Web Services) experiencing significant network connectivity problems with their EBS (Elastic Block Store) which we use to store our master database server data.
I didnt know buddy and im sorry.... If i had come here and the site was down I WOULD HAVE EMAILED YOU LIKE I DID A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WHEN IT HAPPEND.... (Maybe it wouldnt have been down 5 hours if i had emailed you straight away again)

Was there a short RR outage last night ? Tried to post between 8 and 830pm ET but it wouldn't go through. Got the 'web site is unavailable, click here for a live version' message by CloudFlare.
