So i have a trx-1 and the P25 phase 2 it receives is EXTREMELY loud. it’s startled me every time they speak. how can i fix that? if i turn the volume down, it’s ok. but then everything else is so quiet i can hardly hear it.

I think you need to turn on ACG Automatic Gain Control
that is on. the software doesn’t like to work for me. i’ll download something from the database and it says updated and it won’t be on the radio itself after i imported it to the radio. idk. but i have that on from global settings. someone said something about the DAC?
Not sure then because everyone else talks about they wish the Uniden version of ACG worked as good as the Whistler version.
oh well idk either. is there a specific setting like the DAC or AGC that has something to do with it?
Basically set DAC gain to minimum to reduce the audio level of all digital transmissions. Then enable audio boost on all non-Phase 2 digital channels & talkgroups to bring those levels those back up, and on NFM channels as needed. This helps somewhat.
