Unexpectedly, some DACs became available today. I placed on order. There are also more MCUs available. These are the parts that were recently unavailable with unknown/very long lead-times. I will be proceeding with the P25RX Display as currently designed. I'll post some details later.

Looks pretty nifty! Any way we can get some sort of control on the pc software? Like the hold button, maybe a couple of other functions?

WOW, Sounds and looks great. I'll be saving up for one. I really like how you can go mobile with it and go bluetooth that's a nice feature. In my area I have conventional P25, a LSM site and RISCON P25 Phase 1 and CoMIRS P25 Phase 2 coming.

Here is a short clip.

Looks like a winner!

What are your plans for the display in terms of an enclosure? My hopes are what we’re seeing in the video.

As I mentioned in one of the other threads, I’d like to get a case put together for the display, the P25RX, a speaker and probably a battery to run it all.

I know some are thinking that this would end up being a scanner that you could just buy off the shelf already but to me, this would make an excellent addition for my mobile listening needs.

I’ll take the weird form factor given how well the P25RX performs and the support you’re giving it.

Yes, it will be without an enclosure as shown in the video. A shorter USB cable will be included. (P25RX <> DISPLAY). The current functionality is not much more than what you see in the video. There are buttons for TG hold, audio mute, next/previous page. The 2nd page has a volume slider on it. That is about it for now. It has two 3.5mm jacks. One is low-level line-out (like the P25RX, but wired with L+R connected). The other is mono-only 8-ohm speaker/head phone driver. (stereo jack with only one side wired).

As I mentioned in one of the other threads, I’d like to get a case put together for the display, the P25RX, a speaker and probably a battery to run it all.
Definitely looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

It is a weird form factor, but I couldn't really think of many ways to make it compatible with the P25RX hardware. It will be an open design, so some interesting things could happen with it. I think there is also room for the idea of a phone interface as well (The Pine64 phone looks really appealing to me).
