P25RX Firmware Updates / Testing

I was incorrect about what version was running remotely. The remote system I was monitoring with improvements was running 2021-04-02_0803. I've changed the web site to indicate that this is the current stable version. I will send emails to recent customers about this. I posted a g-drive link on the web site to the latest version _1401, but didn't get a chance to test this remotely on the system with issues today. In summary, if the latest versions are working for you and you like the new features, please continue to test. For some unknown-as-of-yet reason, changes since 2021-04-02_0803 have caused audio issues for some customers.

I'm having issues with some parts the display freezing after running for a few hours. Specifically, the data under the "Console" tab, as well as the information displayed under the "Talk Group Log" tab, stops running. The "Status" information at the bottom of the software also freezes. The P25RX device continues to operate normally. I am currently running version 2021-04-28 1545, (Windows 10) however I have seen this behavior on several different previous versions.

I'm not aware of any bugs causing this, but this will happen if you are on the console page, then select "enter commands". After you are done entering commands, select "enable logging", to continue. Could this be the cause of the issue?

Unfortunately, I've been getting this too. Gonna turn off USB sleep optimization in win 10, also ill enable USB watchdog

Version 2021-04-29_1650 available. This is a change to USB TX in an attempt to fix the lock-up issues being reported in the previous two posts. Is anyone else having this issue? Anyone know what version it started with?

I think what needs to be done is to revert back to 2021-04-02_0803 for now. After I'm able to get some more HW out the door, I will start with that version and try to pick out the best features from the past month and add those back in. Hopefully, it will result in something that works for everyone.

At one time in the past, this was the issue, until I learned to re enable logging. I don't believe this is the case now. I'll do more testing.

On 29 1650 now. No issues on USB or Line out. Just using a small $99 Windows 10 machine from 2015 (Intel x5-z8500 w/2 gig ram). CPU never gets above 20%. Just adding some context to let you know my testing computer.

The USB Watchdog doesn't do anything anymore. Once the issues with USB were resolved, I took that out of the firmware. I haven't removed the option from BTConfig yet.

Running 0658 on Win10 i5-7400 16GB; USB audio. DMR Con+ system.
BTConfig locks up after several hours (longest run about 6 hours without locking up--but that's mid-day when call volume is low)
I'm not exactly sure when the lockup issue started as I only recently began running the system for extended periods.

Running 1650 now and will see how it does.

Although I have not had any lock-ups with recent versions, I believe I know what caused this. There was a change starting with 2021-04-26_1306 that probably caused it. It should be fixed in version 2021-04-30_0258.

I am testing 0258 now, seems to be pretty stable on CLMRN P2 LSM, Troop H Site, audio over USB, insights disabled, TG timeout 250ms

The internal log isn't usually much different than what is shown in the firmware history on the web site. I use git-cola to navigate through diffs. I also find git-cola very useful to partially revert changes in various files.

The USB Tx code has been reverted to be identical to what it was in 04-02_0803. I will quit messing with that code until the MCU vendor fixes the USB drivers. It looks like that may happen soon. They recently updated USB drivers / CDC code for a very similar series. I'll keep an eye on that. In the mean-time, try version _0922.

I hate to bring it up but full app freeze on 2.58

I also experienced app freeze on _0258 after around 2.5 hours.
Switching now to _0922.
