7 years ago APD was on a raid of a dope house and found an XTS5000 programmed for NAS on the Atlanta and our (Fulton) system. ATL's radio shop was dumbfounded. I showed their folks how one could go on Ebay and buy one of these for a couple hundred bucks. (FWIW the programming was atrociously bad talkgroup wise but at least it was set to not TX pretty well).

The problem is P7100's don't do Phase II or 700MHz. Not to mention the channel this raid was done on was probably already encrypted on P25 anyway.
Doesn't matter. Just the perception/appearance could set off alarms we don't want in this hobby.

When I go ebike riding in the warmer months, I usually have a ht with me, as well as a copy of my license in case cops get curious.
Apparently the radio didn't help them. Now, if it were a Luxury APX8000HE Radio they would still be in business!

How do you know it's a P7100? The light grey front cover indicates it's a P5100. They probably have had that radio since the EDACS system was in use. In Florida it would be an enhancement charge if committing a crime with a scanner/radio/app. Especially if it's felony charges.

No, mostly because I'm not a reporter. Even third graders know what a cameraman's job is.
Other than a picture nothing states cameraman but a 67 year old knows that.
