I was wondering if anyone had the locations of the 11 or 12 sites Palm Beach County has for their P25 system. On the FCC filing, unless I'm looking at the wrong thing, it only shows a handful of sites. I am located in Jupiter so am currently using a Yagi (to fight simulcast distortion on the BCD536) pointed at a site located on a tower near the Turnpike Plaza, because of this I am pointed the opposite direction of West Palm so I can not monitor their P25 system. If their was a different site I could aim at, and still get west palm that would be ideal.

Why not do it the old fashioned way and turn the beam to the south until you get good signals from both systems? Armstrong method works for that.

I tried doing that when doing the initial install, pro scan web server was a big help for that in letting me view the scanner in analyze mode and I had poor performance on the PBC system except when it was pointing north west at the turnpike site. I didn't get great results but if I knew the directions of the sites to the south of me I could do a bit more detailed tested in those directions.

I believe the 10 site simulcast is comprised of the following:

Florida Turnpike Toll Plaza, Jupiter
5420 N Singer Island
7800 Forest Hill Blvd, West Palm Beach
1100 45th Street, West Palm Beach
21500 Southern Blvd, Loxahatchee
640 State Market Road, Pahokee
1300 Whittaker Road, Belle Glade
551 NW 14th Ave, Boynton Beach
345 South Congress Ave, Delray Beach
Florida Turnpike Toll Plaza @ Glades Road, Boca Raton

Thank you APX, I will try aiming for that singer island site when I can get around to moving the antenna, looks like there is a WPB site in Lake Park so I should be able to get both by pointing that way hopefully. I have a new Unication G5 coming in on friday, looking forward to not having any simulcast issues with that per what I have read about it.

I am in PBG, just south of Jupiter (Military and Hood), and receive both systems loud and clear on the Unication G5 with OEM stub antenna.

There are several LE COMMs that are in the clear and usually when the stuff hits the fan with multiple agencies, comms move over there. Lantana is still in the clear and another one which I can't recall off the top of my head. But me personally, I listen to Fire-Rescue when I'm not at work.

Im assuming if it happens in north county they have the ability to patch over the opensky system to the LECOMM channels?

Yep. You can actually see it on the display on the portable. For example, I've seen "SYS: 46F57-046" during patches.

Yes there is an ISSI8000 link for all of the trunking systems in the County linking together the Common Talk-Groups. It has been in place for a number of years and works flawlessly.

ID starting with 8499 popped up on LECOM4 stating “All Units All Units Gates are now open at this time”. I know most PBC IDs start with a 7 and I can’t find a listing of where that 8499 is from, any ideas?

ID just keyed up again identifying herself as “Command” sounds like it is the FAU football game as she said all officers return to posts. Still don’t understand the 8499 ID instead of 734

I'm not from that area. It might be Special Event Channel?
