My home 20 eating pizza.
Won’t do much for listening after a dispatch but I have PBC as one of my followed departments on Pulse Point. You know what they say about assuming but I would at least assume that puts out all or at least most of the fire-EMS-rescue calls anyway. Sure now Johnny Scannerboy is stuck with big E but if it’s still blasted out on there what good is it doing hiding it on the P25 system?

And now they’ll probably drop off there after reading that, right?

Well PulsePoint has specific protocols regarding PBCFR. Medical calls are not displayed on there but Accidents, Fires, and service calls are. So at least it's something to see and follow. For the moment it appears only some Rescue/EMS trucks are Enc, there's still a good portion you can hear, for now...

Looking for an update on the Town of Palm Beach.

Looks like Palm Beach Fire Rescue moved over to the Palm Beach County system with a TG assigned. Is dispatch on the PBCFR Dispatch TG or are all ops on their own TG?

Also was looking for Palm Beach Police. I am sure they are encrypted as is most LE in PBCo but are they on the county system now? Is the open sky system not active anymore? Can't find PD in the RRDB although it says police and fire are both on the county system. Didn't see a TG for PD listed.

Thanks in Advance

Town of Palm Beach left the Open Sky system back in 2024. In February of 2025, I logged a talkgroup (TG 2965), noted: "Town of Palm Beach?"
At that time, the talkgroup was in the clear. Maybe you can monitor talkgroup # 2965 and see if its still in the clear and figure out who it is. If I recall correctly, it was a PD. And something I heard must have made me believe it was Town of Palm Beach, hence my note.

I also logged TG 133 which I have noted as PBCSO to School Board. An interoperability between the SO and the Schools.

Thanks for the responses. I’d be surprised if PD is in the clear.

With regards to fire rescue, again I’ll ask where are they dispatched? County dispatch or on their own TG? Thanks

Fire is currently still in their own PSAP on the island.

Planning ahead for a trip but not local at the moment. I’ll post anything I find when I’m in town.

Is there an active talk group for Fire Dispatch in the county (that is not encrypted) ? In addition, is the Boynton Beach FD talk groups the same as listed and NOT encrypted? THX

According to the RRDB, the fire side in PBC is mostly unencrypted, as is Boyton Beach FD. Digital (D) or TDMA (T) does not mean encryption.

agree, but the tac channel listed as dispatch, if you listen to the archives, has no dispatch, so just curious if there is a actual tone out dispatch, either human or automated to listen to!

Their migration path to "E" is in process (the dispatch consoles and TAC6A have been locked down for a while), so eventually the end the answer to your question is no.

There are big plans for Boynton FD that the media should eventually report on but in the meantime, they currently reside on their own tower using TDMA and are not on the County simulcast.

And Boynton threw the switch on secure two weeks ago.

Boca is the only FD not currently doing so.
Someone who can verify needs to submit this change to the RRDB.
