Saw today on Facebook an official post from the mayor. They entered the final phase of the upgrades to their communications.

They want all emergency services to be on one frequency in the case of an emergency.

From what it sounds like, every agency will be joining up, or at least all will have the capability to talk amongst each other.

I watched the video. He mentions that dispatch will be moving back to Parsippany starting January 1, 2021.

Going to start monitoring for any active TGs

Where are you located? I'm in West Orange and not picking anything up on that frequency.

What about that huge new tower they built at Volunteers Park behind Food Town? Wasn't that supposed to be one of the sites?

Is this system actually being used by PPD at this point?

It was mentioned in the news article over the summer (earlier post) that the system would be in use starting Jan 1. So it will probably just be testing over the next couple months.

Got good news guys. I just got re-hired for my Parsippany based job, so will be down there Tuesday evening. After my shift I’ll hang out for a bit and see what I hear/observe on my 325p2.

Also. Keep an ear out for Montville. They were also supposedly going to get TG’s as well.

They identify as car# usually in the teens or 20’s

Parsippany cars identify as # Adam. Or some other alpha numeric.

For now you're not going to hear anything. There's only 2 of 4 subsites on the air, and the system is in wide mode. You can expect them to place all four sites on the air and perform coverage testing before any subscribers affiliate to the system for general use. Also I don't believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that Parsippany-Troy Hills currently has APX's in service currently. So that adds to the timeline with a need to replace and program subscriber radios if they are still using XTS/XTL gear.

I will say one thing. Looking back at Sean's files from his work on this, they are going to have one hell of a solid coverage area. On the road at least. Inside various structures is to be seen as always.
