I would expect the system to be heard southwest of Parsippany as there aren’t any real obstructing hills in that direction for at least 4 miles. Even going north towards Boonton Twp it is almost line of sight staying west of Sheep Hill.
Now going towards Pompton Plains and Riverdale youhave Sheep Hill and the hills in Towaco that block the signal.
And any good RF engineer would use electrical downtilt on the Powder Mill site to help focus coverage in town to minimize co-channel andenhance in building coverage in the town.
Parsippany’s system should have better coverage in town than the County or PSIC systems. Parsippany has four TX/RX sites in town where the County system only has Randolph and Sheep Hill as the two main contributing sites.
PSIC has West Orange and Garrett Mtn as the simulcast site and Randolph single site to cover the town. Ramapo is too far west and Green Pond too far northwest.
700 MHz RF contour does not do well when you are in a shadow of a hill/mountail like where I live. Thereare more “shadows” than UHF. Besides I have the Kinnelon County site which covers into this area well.
I’ll have to take my SDS200 mobile through Parsippany one day.
