Talkgroup 3001 coming up this am. Sounds like radio techs doing testing on the system. They were driving around and talking about system coverage. They were in clear and encrypted modes during testing.

I have some screen shots from the system on the West side I will put up later. It is showing as site 10

Weird stuff tonight. talkgroups 9903 and 9904 automated transmissions in a loop? They also changed to the control channel to 855.3625. Attached are screenshots from Pro96com and Unitrunker.

Well, here's what I'm seeing with Fast Lane:

There's a mixture of Phase I and II, and everything I'm seeing right now is in the clear. The talk groups I can hear are decoding poorly from my location, but they sound like repeated recordings with voice and some test tone noises.

So it looks like we've got 2 sites with the following:

Site 1:

852.2500
852.7500
853.2250
853.8875

Site 10:

855.1625
855.3625
855.6375
855.8625
856.3625
856.8875
857.3875
858.3125.

The BCD996P2 won't even lock on to the control channel, much less stop on any talk groups, so I think it's simulcast. I'm wondering if we have enough at this point to start submitting to the database?

Lots of radio maintenance testing yesterday and today both clear and encrypted on the P25 system in Pasco. Hopefully they will leave their dispatch channels clear when they go live with the new system. I would be really happy if they left the detective channels clear because those are usually the most fun to listen to but I know I'm dreaming there. Only thing holding me from getting a SDS100 is the question of encryption on this system.

Right now they are piping P25 talkgroup 3001 to their existing EDACS system talkgroup 774. All com checks but the encrypted P25 traffic is in the clear on the EDACS side.

There is another thread and indications are all public safety will be encrypted including fire rescue. I would not buy an SDS100 unless you want to listen to Pinellas.

Looks like they went live today and there is at least one dispatch channel in the clear. Not sure if it will last and it kind of sounds like it is just one zone that is on it.

The EDACS System is still live and it sounds like they have some older radios patched in on the new system.

District 2 dispatch is for sure up and running on P25 TGID: 4002
Dispatch console is UID: 4504051
Patch seems to be coming from UID: 4596002

I take it back, they aren't live yet but they are piping their EDACs system on to it. Probably part of their testing/cutover plan.

They disabled District 2 on P25, enabled PCFR West and District 1.

I went thru the FCC database and came up with 15 frequencies. I just put them in my 436 and hit ID Search as of today up to 8 talk groups. Pretty much figured out 4001 - Sheriff Disp., 3001 - Fire Disp. the others they just key up testing or they are E. not patched to the old system.

Everything is encrypted though correct? That is what i was hearing yesterday. It is patched to the old system, because as of yesterday 3001 which is SO NW was broadcasting as normal on EDACs system but all encrypted on the P25 system. Initially 3001 was all clear and the only Digital voice was the dispatcher. Because of it going all encrypted it was hard to tell if any of the field units were starting to switch over to the P25 system.

Makes no sense to encrypt everything, I hope the whole system crashes like Miami / Dade did when they tried to encrypt everything.

A very sad time for Pasco County residents who really want to know what's going on in their communities. This won't improve the quality of service or safety for first responders as claimed.

This is all about controlling the flow of information and the public perception of the agency. Don't worry, THEY will let you know what's going on if THEY think it's newsworthy.

Really ironic that the system "live" date is around Halloween. Trick or Treat?

Agreed! Very sad, as a retired Firefighter I enjoy listening it's been my hobby for 40 years now what! I would thought I would of seen some news articles or on TV about this happening. Nothing! I guess I'll listen to Hillsborough till they "E".

I know myself and a few colleagues tried to bring the issue up to our outlets but were shot down. Not really due to any conspiracy or anything, more along the lines of the topic beyond their understanding.

It may come with time though. It took one television station several months to ask where Tampa PD went when they switched from conventional to EDACS. The same will happen with Pasco and they will freak when they can’t simply reprogram their scanners.

All it will take is just one major incident over a weekend that doesn’t get a press release until Monday morning. Or just a collection of press releases on things that are hours and hours old.

It happens now and it will happen more. You just have to look past all of the self-promotion that Pasco SO does on social media and not mistake it for transparency.

Being on LivePD doesn't cut it! Its only 2 nights a week plus no FD or EMS. Knowing where Crashes are and road blocks and Fire calls And BOLO's etc. that's what we need.I could care less about Swat or drug buys. Everyday stuff the public needs that!
