Does anyone know if Pawtucket fire will go back to using RISCON full time? I live in East Providence and I get a very weak signal at best It would be nice to hear them loud and clear once again Thank you

I believe it's coming. They just ordered all new Zetron station alerting equipment and the West Ave fire station reconstruction has begun. Big things happening there so standby.......

Now if only all other analog departments would follow their lead it would be a great day for scanners everywhere Before Pawtucket fire switched to RISCON I could barely hear them over the static I could actually get Fall River better that is porthetic because I'm in East Providence Barrington line and it's only what about 7 miles away from Pawtucket

I'll agree to disagree with this statement.

I'm twice as far away from Pawtucket as you are, I get them loud and clear on analog. Is there an obstruction between you and their transmitter site like a large building?

It would depend on what channel he is listening to. They have multiple transmit locations.

WA1Lad, do you have an updated list of RISCON talkgroups? I have been trying to locate Quonset Fire (state fd) & DEM Dept of Forestry (firefighting) TG's. And if there are other secret squirrel tg's that are in the clear please past them along. Thanks

Quonset FIre is TG 304
Quonset FD VHF pl is 151.4
DEM Forestry is TG 131. They are dispatched on TG 120, DEM Dispatch. And, they will conduct operations on one of a bunch of direct freqs in their radios occasionally.

Hi Bill,

It is not. I don't believe RIANG has the ability to patch, at least they didn't last time I was there. The have mobile radios or standalone consolettes for each VHF and 800 TG they use.

Gil

P.S. I have tried the lottery numbers thing...seems my insight ends with radio things... :ROFLMAO:

To wa1lad Since you were right on the money about Pawtucket fire switching to RISCON do you know of any other departments planning to join RISCON as well? Thank you
