Sorry Remedy, I pretty sure its not a HiJack Prog. And as I listed before I'm running those Spyware progs you listed. But your onto somthing with the regedit. I think my problem lies in there with the configuration.

I did manage to find a Download manager on some old dick I had and Im now using it to get my DL's. But I find it very frustaighting the IE6 will no longer do my downloads consistantly.

I'm going to work tomarrow  .. I got to get with Adolph H. in IT dept and see if heir furror will let me bring in this Laptop to find out what its problem is.

(God I hope he's in a meeting) I know of a few good people in IT that can help me out there if he's not around. I really hate dealing with "heir furror"

I might unplug the Intranet line and see if one of my old friends can come over and fix it at my shop! ;)

Use notepad to see the content of the file by default it should look like this.

Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
# For example:
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
