Can anyone tell me how the digital end of this receiver is for APCO25 listening. Does it have issues such as motorboating or bad pick up of the digital signal? Also I am wondering can you change out the cards? I mean if I have the D-Star card installed and the APOC25 card I wanted to listen to. Can I swap them back and forth? Any help would be great

Thanks

The decoded audio is great, no motorboating on P25, not sure about mixed mode systems. You can change the cards, however the cards are internal and require a pin and flex cable connection, so the cards are not meant to be swapped out often. If you just want to use it as a P25 trunking receiver you would be better off with a dedicated radio from Uniden or GRE.

I believe that there are two card connectors in the IC-R/PCR2500. One connector is for the D-Star card or a tone decoder card (one or the other) and the second connector is for the APCO25 card. The connectors are not the same. The "Japan Market" model does not have the APCO25 connector.

BUT, you can get the no gap, wide open USA Models from Japan from "palacemuseum" on Ebay. Accept No Imitations!
