penndot is using 151.100 p25 for truck to truck/flagger ops in pike county. I think the PA Starnet signal sucks here in pike county

I've picked that up occasionally in Bradford County as well, with NAC 100. Up here that frequency is licensed to:

151.01000WQFA442RM94.8 PLEM TransportEndless Mtn Transportation AuthorityFMTransportation

which is generally referred to as BeST Transit (Bradford, Sullivan, Tioga).

They could be statewide. They could also be using other frequencies as well.

I thought they would still be using these:

STARNet A34T 851.4375 CT:156.7
STARNet D34T 851.4375 NAC 293

When Bradford County came online there were numerous coverage/radio complaints as well. When I first heard them on 151.01 they were in a dead zone, and practically on my doorstep.

One guy saying 151.10, the other saying 151.01...which is it?

It's both. I've seen 151.100 and 151.010. Both P25, NAC 100. They are part of a group of "off network" flagging channels available in the PennDOT radios. They also have the nationwide VTAC channels and have gotten chastised for using VCALL10 for flagging (training issue since those are not in the radios for flagging, but for interop situations; different zones from what I am told, but some crews like to try to "hide" on their radios, using weird channels for things). If they have multiband radios, the old A34T channel is in there, too.

Don't forget, this was discussed back in March when folks heard P25 comms on MURS...also PennDOT. Those are part of the off network VHF group, apparently.

I remembered that, and had it in the back of my mind while posting on this thread. I considered posting then but, as I had only heard it once, considered it a fluke. Heard it again about a month ago while in Troy, Pa. which is why I brought it up here.

I've heard 151.01 P25 $100/$293 TG1 RID1 flagger talk as well, Thought it was E Nottingham Twp road crew, Since they are within range, But it likely was indeed a PENNDOT crew.

We should probably keep an eye on 156.135 which is also licensed to PennDOT on that KL6207.

This sorta confirms 159.195 is in use. Caught NAC 293 today in my log.
