Perry County Going Trunked?

I am watching it closely and check in every few months (so as not to make a pest of myself). I said all along that I wondered about the feasibility of Perry going to a digital system. At my last contact, though...he seemed to indicate that things were on track. We'll see.

So it has been a few months since I posted any updates. As a refresher, this will be a conventional simulcast P25 system. According to the Director, it will be Phase 1 with no plans at this time for encryption. They are unsure if the channel assignments will be released to the public, but we can figure those out during testing.

My last contact with the director had these updates. The tower sites are done with the exception of the microwave equipment. The shelter equipment is done on 3 of the 5 tower sites. The comm center equipment and microwave will be installed in the next couple of weeks. Purchase orders for fire, EMS and law enforcement were submitted. November testing timeline is still on track.
