I was curious if anyone in the city or near by could hear Calvert County Maryland Fire ? They switched from low band to 154.3925 for paging purposes.I believe I’m hearing another county or city from Va


The best I can determine, it's probably Madison County, VA licensed as a TRS. They are about 100 miles west of Calvert County in the Shenandoah area. 200W max ERP, probably with some elevation. WREA935. Doesn't look to be functional yet.

There are other licensees in Petersburg VA KIK653 and Burkesville, VA WQEN891 with lower power outputs, both at least 100 miles west.

Do you have the CTCSS/DCS tone of the agency you believe you're hearing? That could help narrow things down.

And no, I don't believe Madison's system is on-the-air yet, so that's probably not what you're hearing.

Caroline (Va.) Fire/Rescue is on 154.3850 [186.2] - that's pretty close to 154.3925, and Caroline is much closer to Calvert than Madison or Petersburg.
