Hey folks,

Any interesting comms come from the minor fire they had at Petro-Canada last Tuesday? Sounds like it wasn't much of a fire, but I'm curious if there's a plant fire department, or if the city had to be called out, etc.

Furthermore, is there a trunk system in use there that we should be adding to the database? :D

I did'nt have the scanner on that night, from what I heard it was leak and small fire. Petro-Canada have there own fire department, last time I looked 3 or 4 peices. If Petro-Canada was too call out for help, it would be Strathcona county, units from Sherwood Park.
Petro-Canada operate on a 800 Mhz Mot. type II system.

Do you happen to have the frequencies/talkgroups for this system?

This system is fairly busy during the day as all contractors on site must use refinery supplied radios only

Interesting - it looks like they may have some more trunk systems in other places as well (Redwater, anybody? How about Fort Hills, N of Wood Buffalo?)

Adding this one to the DB for sure.

The problem with this system is that unless you are big into valve-porn, you are going to be bored really quick. Valves valves valves... Valve opening, valve closing, valve status. Throughput, output, lock outs... That's about it, you are now fully versed in refinery monitoring.
