I want to buy the Uniden BCD 396T. Unlike my Pro-95 and GRE 300, I can receive the SWAT and OPS and ect., but they are encrypted and all I get is annoying noise. Will this scanner in Project 25 mode all allow the monitoring of these Radioreference encrypted groups listed above? Thanks. Please assist.

No scanner will receive encrypted communications. period.

I want to purchase the PSR-500 but will it perform better than my Pro-95? Is project 25 this big?
Is this the swoshing sound (Key Mic) I hear on the Pro-95? Is this swoshing sound the APCO-25 system?

Yes it will perform better in the sense that it can decode any of the talkgroups that are using UNencrypted digital comms in addition to the analog talkgroups.

As for the sound you hear? Don't want to say yes or no without hearing it myself but that could be a good bet.

My last scanner was a 95 and then I upgraded to a GRE500.
Way more sensitive and better reception. Audio seems better to me also.You definately get your money's worth.
from my understanding you will need digital capable scanner once the switch is complete.

I need help ( will pay for services) for programming pinellas county in my brand new GRECOM PSR-500.. I already have the ARC500 Software disc...just need guidance to set up properly. Robert Ryan 727-363-0814. I use the PSR-500 for entertainment value only as I'm a cancer patient only able to sit in chair (no mobile abilities)
