Good Evening Everyone,

I was listening to my radio to keep an ear out for conditions in Downtown Pittsburgh tonight and I heard Zone 3 ask for two officers to click over their ICS channel.

This is the second time I've heard ICS channels referenced. I was wondering if anybody knew what those channels are and the details about them.

Are they P25 digital? Are they encrypted? My assumption it is one of the two Allegheny County Incident Command frequencies. I believe there is an analog one and a digital one, both encrypted.

Any details would be awesome. The scanner I have is a Whistler TRX-1.

Go with what you assume. More than likely it is spot on. I am monitoring PD 1 thru 3 as well as operations and the administration channels. Quiet so far.

I was very surprised to hear how quiet the standard PGH frequencies are.

For something like this I can understand the desire for keeping transmissions out of the clear.

They are the County's , didn't know the City had access to them.
Have been using them for quite awhile since they moved tac ops off off the operations channel. The city has access to all countywide channels and has for some time. Have heard motorcycle and other city officers quite frequently on countywide public safety for motorcades etc.
