Do you see ATT at the top of the screen on the scanner with the weak signal? Your screenshots are cut off at the top.

Maybe overload with too much signal or nearby transmitters or other interference on outside antenna which can actually reduce the received signal.. since signal seems to be unusually strong on the ducky -60db… I do not believe you said how far you are from the site. did you try to use attenuator on external antenna as strange as that may seem? Or various filters or ifx?

Did you use a meter to test the inner part and outer shielding of the cable (no antenna connected) to determine if there is good continuity and no short? (Not to insult your abilities, just to cover all bases).

Does this predicament happen on different frequencies or just the one you photographed (may just be a fluke).

Could there be something inside along the cable path that is causing a de-sense issue on the antenna, but is not present inside with a rubber ducky? How about connectors or adapters - could they be lossy?

You do have a theoretically great setup - I'm jealous of it, so I hope you get it figured out.

Can someone please help.... I have a two SDS100's. One with a Diamond tri-band rubber ducky and the other with a Diamond D300N with LMR400. This is all new equipment. Just installed today. (The base antenna that is). My RSSI signals are stronerg with the rubber ducky then the base antenna. I only have a 50' run of cable. I have NO idea where to begin to start to troubleshoot. Thoughts? Ideas?
First off, it appears you are using two different programs… if the display jpeg’s are any indication. If I missed the part where you state the programs are identical, you just changed the colors on the display afterwards, my apologies. But that wouldn’t explain HOW the display information displayed is different on each scanner. Before any comparison is run both scanners should be running the exact same program (or code plug).

And tested on the same SYSTEM/SITE of Agency Frequency.
If you tune to the Weather Service (The Same One) and test with the Duck then the D300N on each Scanner what are the readings.

What would be the best way to connect LMR400 to a SDS 100??
My LMR400 (25 feet) goes into my lightning protection (outside the house) then LMR 200 (15 feet) comes out of that into my SDS200. Who did your cables, and where is the external antenna located?

Something I have not seen mentioned: Are there strong in-band transmitters in the area?

That could desensitize the one using the external antenna.

Thanks Ubbe…Yes, desense was the word I meant😁…and yes the rssi value, except if extreme, does not tell the whole story and is minimally useful..hopefully the initiator of this thread will respond with further updates. Now 3 of us are thinking alike or we all could be wrong!!
