Can someone please help.... I have a two SDS100's. One with a Diamond tri-band rubber ducky and the other with a Diamond D300N with LMR400. This is all new equipment. Just installed today. (The base antenna that is). My RSSI signals are stronerg with the rubber ducky then the base antenna. I only have a 50' run of cable. I have NO idea where to begin to start to troubleshoot. Thoughts? Ideas?

Which picture is the external antenna? RSSI is in dBm and negative numbers, so the closer to zero the stronger.

Same results with other antenna. Changed coax too. I did the install so I know it was to properly. Just can't find the signal loss problem.

When you get your coax/antenna issue figured out, I'd suggest you get a multicoupler, if you don't already have one.
Some say Stridsburgs are over-rated/over $$, but they do work well.
I definitely plan on it

Sorry. I had a tram antenna 1210 and was having this problem. I upgraded the antenna to the Diamond D300N and the coax to LMR400. Same results. I get better reception using the Diamond RH77CA rubber ducky then I do the base antenna.

I suggested you switch scanners to the opposite antenna and verify results. My guess is connectors are not on well, but just a guess.

Is cable new? Is Discone new? Connectors new?

Did that and the scanners pick up the same. The coax is new as well as the antenna

Let's see a picture of how and where you mounted the Discone. Is it outside or in your basement? Did you DIY the coax connectors?
