Since some people have posted on here about installing in a Grand Am due to limited space,I thought i would post some photos of my install.

I use a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am. It is used as an EMS Captains vehicle for a BLS team.
It is fully stocked with BLS equipment, water rescue gear, search and rescue/technical rescue equipment,2 whelen dash lights ,and of course radios.

The radios currently installed are a Yaesu FT 2800 M VHF with a Hustler 5/8 Antenna
GE/MACOM ORION Remote mount (UHF) Programmed with Amateur Radio and EMS,antenna is a Laird Phantom Elite. Also sometimes in the vehicle is my GE MPA UHF EMS Radio,Yaesu FT 60r ham and my Toughbook CF-27.

Photos will be posted in a little.

And if you are going to reply to my posts with the word whacker anywhere in the text, dont even bother responding. I am not here to please the Forum Police, and if being an actual EMT on a volunteer team makes me a whacker, then so be it. :)
Any questions feel free to ask

I had a 96 Grand Am and was able to install remote head units in it.

Now hurry up and get your Paramedic! It's lots more fun!

As long as you're a medic and you're "on the job" then you're NOT a whacker, lol!

I dunno a radio with no antennas is kinda pushing it!;) What are you pumping the 2800 through I've got a 2900 as a base and I'm entertaining mobile antenna idea for it should I want to deploy it as an extra mobile.

At first sight, the speakers look scary, but they are secured using 2 self tapping screws on each bracket. If I took a better picture you would see that the speakers are extremely secure.(This was my first concern)
The yaesu is using a Hustler NMO quarterwave whip, the Orion is using a Phantom Elite.
I will post pics of the rescue and medical gear(trunk and back seat) when it is daylight out

And just in case any one is curious, the yaesu is used mainly for ham (altho I do have some fire tone outs saved). Callsign is KJ4RZO

Well since every one has asked, here are more pictures.
The Technical Rescue equipment (Rope etc) dont stay in the vehicle unless it is needed.
The medical equipment stays in the vehicle,as does the swiftwater/water rescue gear.

And the rest of the photos. I will attempt to get photos of the whelens tonight.
Not pictured is the Toughbook,GE MPA,HT 1000 and Yaesu FT 60r that are sometimes in the vehicle.
I am in the process of converting the trunk and adding a pull out type shelf that would be able to hold maps etc. The Grand Am is going to be used as the command vehicle until i get tired of it and decide to upgrade
Im also working on installing NMO mounts shortly

The lettering on your Camel Bak reminds me of the selfmade toys of my childhood. Do you seriously wear that thing when on duty? o_0

In my old Grand Am, I had two Spectra head units in that bottom slot and had room to spare. You my want to think about moving the Yaesu to just under the A/C knobs and then mount the M/A head under it. Makes it a lot neater and less chance of anything coming loose.

How did you mount then under the a/c controls? My only concern is drilling into the underneath of the a/c controls
