Hello, Based on what I see on Unitrunker, there are only a few RCMP officers in town and possibly only one that is on at any given time. The RCMP in town seem to always need assistance from surrounding detachments. There seems to be a service gap between 3am till about 6am as some calls from the DOCC seem to go unanswered during this time. This seems to be a province wide issue for them as well. I recall a news article about this and I will post here. Estevan and Carnduff RCMP detachments form temporary amalgamation amid staffing woes

Yes, I agree with your assessment. The situation in Carnduff is similar to many other locations in the province.
RCMP member shifts are 10 hours long. The day shift is 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and the night shift is 5:00 pm to 3:00 am and so there is that "gap" of four hours that the criminal element will use to their advantage.

We are all creatures of bad habits and predator's love to ambush creatures that frequent the same travel routes and locations every day.
The predators watch and know when we are at work or at home. The predators know exactly how long we will be away and when we will return. The predators know what streets, grid roads and highways we will travel each day.

If I was in command I would have at least one RCMP member start their day shift at 9:00 am and work until 7:00 pm and do the same with the night shift, that being 9:00 pm to 7:00 am, so the "gap" would be gone. I would in addition to this require RCMP members to reside within in the community. For example, Carnduff detachment members would be required live in Carnduff. I see far too many examples of members commuting for an hour or two before and after a shift.

As for the bad habits I was trained to never to be a creature of bad habits. I do not come and go at the same times or travel the same routes every day. I do not frequent the same "watering holes" every day. Predators operate in "packs" or "gangs". A predatory member will keep an eye on you or me while the other members loot our homes and businesses.

The RCMP members don't appear to comprehend how gangs really operate. A couple of gang members will stage in "critical incident" at a home in a rural location by calling 911. Other gang members watch the local detachment and take a "head count", that is how many members "headed out" to the 911 call. Other gang members are now free to loot a home or business in the community and will no doubt be informed when the RCMP members clear the scene of the 911 call.

Every gang masters it's domain. Gangs inundate and overload the system's resources, so there are never enough police officers on duty to meet the required demands. The gangs keep our jails and prisons continually over their capacity. The court system is so over loaded with gang bangers we require night courts. Our system is already so broken that it is beyond repair.

Cheers?

I completely agree with you Mobby1. Before I got into this hobby I thought the police where always on duty and crime/gangs where an almost non existent Issue but after getting into this hobby I find myself locking the doors at night and keeping an eye out for suspicious people. I feel we are lied to by the police/government and the media so the current state of things are easier to swallow. I have learned a lot from using SDR's and Unitrunker as well as the members on this forum. This newbie RR member still has a sliver of hope for things to change but that is fading fast. In any event thank you everyone for posting and helping this newbie.

Hello, Today something interesting happened here on site 153 and I am not sure if anyone has had something else happen on there site. Source 2262994 seems to have trespassed on this site, possibly a rogue radio maybe or something else I am unaware of.

I will attach a screen shot for anyone interested.

Hi, Kylep997

This is what Rick aka Unitrunker2 posted about this:
"Trespass" a specific type of denial for a foreign radio (a radio coming from a different network) was displayed previously as "Deny".
I am also seeing this. See the screenshots.

Hi, wolffe, I have never seen that RCMP talk-group ID before and the same can be said for those three RCMP RIDs.

Talk-group ID 116 074 DE RCMP Link ID with RCMP Flin Flon Manitoba-PSCS.

Hello, Yesterday there was no login or joins from the local RCMP till about 9:30am. I find this interesting as they usually login with there radios when they start there shifts at 7am or at the latest 8am then today I also saw RID 2216255 here at about 8:30am then he/she didn't appear again till about 10:20am. I will attach some screenshots for anyone interested.

Hello again, I believe that RID 2216255 has nothing to do with CTSS or even CRU for that matter. I believe that 2216255 is specialized unit such as GIS or maybe MCU based on what Mobby1 said yesterday in post #288 and my data for that day. I may be wrong but 2216255 was active between 9:06am and 9:25am in the fort area.

This with my data shows that this unit left this area early in the morning possibly responding to the CTK homicide. All other CTSS units in this area carried on as usual but 2216255 seems to have left this area in a hurry and it would seem it only stayed in the fort area collecting information or whatever it was doing. It then came back to this area possibly for its original purpose.

The day I observed this unit in town it had no ALPR was unmarked black and was a Ford Police Interceptor SUV. Maybe it's some Intelligence/Surveillance Unit. This is mostly speculation on my part, but this unit doesn't seem to follow the same pattern as regular CTSS or CRU.

Thank you, Mobby1, for the context and for digging into your archive. This data is really interesting. If I’m interpreting it correctly, RIDs 2216245 to 2216251 appear to be roving traffic units, but the rest seem to be either unknown or less active. Do you think the remaining RIDs could also be traffic-related, or possibly something else? Also, is your current theory that 2216255 is still CTS/CRU, or do you think it might be something more specialized based on this data? Thank you Again.

Hi, kylep997

More information for you from my archive.

On April 26th 2016 Prime Minister Justin Trudeau traveled from Regina to Fort Qu'Appelle Saskatchewan.
The Talk-group used for this event was 42 and is now known to be TAC #8.
These RIDs are a group that was seen on that day only and I have not seen since that day.

2216225 Hits 1
2216226 Hits 8
2216227 Hits 47 on site 20th through 26th "Mobile Command"
2216228 Hits 7
2216229 Hits 2
2216231 Hits 3
2216232 Hits 16
2216233 Hits 2
2216234 Hits 13
2216235 Hits 13
2216236 Hits 13
2216239 Hits 1
2216240 to 2216245 have not been seen for several years so those RIDs not from around this part of the province
or they are reserved for some special purpose like those RIDs utilized for the PM's visit RIDs.

2216247 shows as Weyburn City unit M732 CTS, Constable "Jim" was heard on TG 151, Hits 7.

2216252 to 2216255 could very well be portable radios utilized by City of Estevan Combined Traffic Officers?
These RIDs could be utilized by City of Estevan SERT/CRT units?

The RIDs just above these appear to be utilized by RCMP Traffic Services Carlyle and Broadview.

Hello, Yesterday CBSA? was active between 10:20am and 12:24am. I will attach screenshots. Also to date CBSA? has 28 radios that have been seen here on site 153. I will also attach a link to the RCMP operational manual if anyone is interested: RCMP Operational ManualScreenshot 2025-03-24 000235.pngScreenshot 2025-03-24 053235.png

Hello again, Mobby1 was right.
I believe about RID's 2216252-2216255. There was a news release about the homicide on CTK from the RCMP earlier today talking about how they had assistance from a number of other RCMP units other than MCU. The RCMP didn't specify which units helped during this investigation but I suspect it was SERT or CRT.

I will post the link to the original RCMP media release here: https://rcmp.ca/en/saskatchewan/news/2025/03/charge-laid-suspicious-death-carry-kettle-nakoda-nation

Hi, all

RR member Ryan from Saskatoon shared his p25 packet text file in post #124. I sorted through the RIDs seen on 00A sites 19/113/236/242 and 00C site 38 after removing all of the Saskatoon Motorola site BEE004E4 data. I was left with only 6400 lines of data to go through.
I have updated RR member Wil's Google Sheet with most of my findings. I thank Ryan for sharing his file with use.

Ryan's data was dated between 02/12/2024 and 07/19/2024, so it covered about four months.
In this time frame there were only two CBSA RIDs seen on site 19.
Each of those CBSA RIDs was seen only once on the same day and not very far apart, so these could be
a mobile with a portable. This data appears to explain why so little CBSA action is seen on site 19.
It only takes one CBSA RID logged in on site 19 to see all of the channel grants from other CBSA officers
on other sites in the network, but it appears CBSA is rarely in Saskatoon.

RR member Kyle in Carnduff is seeing by far, the most CBSA action, and I thank him for reporting what he is seeing.
