I realize there is another scan list titled thread below mine. However, I think my thread is a little different.

Anyway -

Just bought the 106 today. Previous owner of PRO-135 and most recently PRO-164.

Here is what I am trying to do.

Say I want to program Anchorage Police (local) on scan list 1, and Anchorage Fire on scan list 3, so I could listen to both, or either by pressing the corresponding key. The problem is - I program the TSYS/TGRP on which AFD, select scan list *3 - but the object still shows up in scan list 1 (as well as scan list 3). So, turning off scan list 3 does not turn off AFD, since its still on list 1. So far, I seem to have been able to solve this issue by going in to GLOB and setting the default scan list to whatever I'm programming at the moment.

Is this the best solution (besides software)?

Thanks, you seem like a helpful bunch.

When you set your scanlist3, you didn't remove the object from scanlist1. If programing manually, remove the * next to the 1 the scanlist area. If they are on the same system, a wildcard in #1 will also pull in everything that you also have in #3 I think...Remember that objects can be in multiple scan lists.

Wildcards only act on talkgroups that have not been stored in the TSYS. The "TGRP Ignore" setting in the GLOB menu has some control over what a wildcard will receive.

If the option is set to "Yes", the wildcard object will ignore objects that are not in enabled scanlists (i.e. The wildcard will not hit on them). The scanner basically treats those talkgroup objects as if they are locked out so that the scanner can ignore them when seen on the control channel.

If the option is set to "No" the wild card will treat talkgroups that are not in an enabled scanlist as a new talkgroup. If you try to store them, the scanner will tell you it's a duplicate and ask if you want to overwrite the original.

Thanks, noted..

Another question on entering frequencies -

I'm trying to enter a P25 system here, but having some trouble. Example - when I enter 155.91250, the scanner changes it to 155.91000. Is that a setting I can change somewhere, or is it a default that doesn't affect the performance?

Does programming in a table help?

The system is ALMR - Alaska Land Mobile Radio, if it matters.

You don't need to program or set up a frequency table for PRO 106 to monitor a VHF trunking system, unless you are monitoring a 400mhz trunking system, namely the Federal Government systems. The scanner uses the control channel data to determine the trunking table for VHF/UHF/800/900mhz trunking systems.

Are you programming the frequencies as a P25 AUTO, not conventional? When you program the control channels they should program in as 155.9125, and so fourth. You shouldn't need to change a setting unless you are listening to a conventional system that has narrowband frequencies. Then you will need to make an adjustment.

Yes, programming it as a P25 AUTO.
These are some of the pertinent settings below on this sytem:

Narrow FM: off
DIG AGC (what is that?): on
Supertrack: on
Muti-Site: Roam, Thres hi: 95, lo: 75
I entered the T-tables anyway, since changing from auto to custom did not make a difference in the frequencies.

So far, almost every control channel I've entered has been corrected by the scanner. Not sure what is wrong.

Turn FlexStep 'On' in the Expert Settings menu.
