PRO-107, curious battery question ?

It has been pretty much common knowledge for some time, that radio shack handheld scanners, those made by uniden, that the batteries insert one at a time directly into the handheld scanner . And in Gre handhelds the batteries go into a holder, then put in the scanner..The Pro-107 now the batteries go directly into the scanner. Is this a first time for Gre that they made a handheld scanner use batteries in this manner ?

I believe so, at least as far back as I can remember. It looks like you wouldn't have the space for one in a small case like that.
