Purchased a Pro-164. I also purchased the computer cable. It came with two free downloads of codes.

I downloaded Pompano Beach Florida Broward Sheriff's office on one Bank. The Fire Rescue on another bank and then all Broward Sheriff on another bank.

When i turn the scanner on after sending the data it changes channels and says MOT: None.

Once i press scan on the scanner if starts jumping to all different talk groups i presume on the Fort Lauderdale Frequencies.

Thats what i don't understand. I just want to be able to change banks when i went to listen to different talk groups.

But the current configuration is running through all the talk groups on those frequencies.

I've attached the Bin file to this post. Can someone look at it and see what im doing wrong?

Thanks,

In your setup under Bank Type "MOTOROLA", Check the box for CLOSED. Then you will hear only the talk groups that you have selected. However, in the open mode when you hear a talk group that you would like to add, quickly press the "T" button and the TG will be added. Reference: Easier to Read Pro-164/163 PSR300/C/400/C Scanner Manual to change from open to closed via keyboard: In Manual mode select any channel of the bank you want to open or close by entering the bank number and channel number (Ex: 001) then press MAN to advance to the channel.
Press FUNC then DELAY to toggle between open and closed modes.
Or, while scanning, quickly press FUNC then DELAY while any channel or ID in the bank is displayed or when the cursor blinks on the bank number.

In the Frequencies for the PL/DPL add 97.3 for every frequency entered.

Also you shouldn't need the control freq for every tower, just the one that is nearest to your location. I see that they don't have any alternates though.

Motorola Trunk systems do not use nor need PL or DPL tones.

You can enter the control channels of your nearby sites, in the column marked Mode you put MOT. Be sure the Bank Mode is set to MOT.

I tried opening the file with ARC300 but it is blank, are you sure the file contains what you want? I wanted to examine it but there is nothing in the file.

I did open his file with Arc300 and thus based my earlier reply. The file he posted is zipped, you have to unzip it to get a usable file.
Actually there is a pl listed for that trunking system and I just threw it in there for jollies....

I did unzip it and there was nothing there. I just did it again, for about the 4th time and I see it now. I don't see where there would be any problem listening to that system.

I reiterate that PL and DPL tones are not needed on a trunk system.
