I just purchased this scanner, but I cannot receive the police freqs here in Battle Creek. I was wondering if there was some special way to enter the freqs?

I believe that Battle Creek is on the MPSCS which is all digital APCO 25 you would need a digital scanner to receive them..They are encrypted anyways along with if not all of Calhoun Co.

yup 99% of all traffic on the MPSCS system in Calhoun is encrypted. For the most part you will hear MSP units or other agencies going through the county but for the most part nothing else. I hate it to as they are one county away from me.

If you have to encrypt, then you must have something to hide.

My person deeling is, TAC and LEIN should always be but leave the rest in the clear. Keeps most everyone happy. I don't want them reading m person info on LEIN for everyone to hear.
