I have 2 pro 2096 scanners...for some reason, both will not pick up my local freq's..I have programmed these before and have others that are working...seems like the sensitivity is bad...it will pick up weather...any thoughts

Could be simulcast distortion since you may be within listening range to two or more towers on the Clinton Co Simul. Are you using an external antenna with the two 2096s that you're having trouble with or the stock telescopic antennae? The issue worsens with external antennae so the name of the game is to isolate the signal to one tower (directional antenna or one with less gain) or pick up a Uniden SDS100 or SDS200 which were designed to mitigate the issue

The is a way to adjust the P25 decode on PRO96/2096.

Just Google adjustments to this scanner and you will find the online instructions to do it.

'Might be' the internal adjustment? I have fixed at least two 2096's and several pro 96's. If I recall correctly while scanning, press MAN and it should be on the control channel frequency. If you hear stuttering noise, likely needs adjustment.
Need to use a very small screwdriver and I have found generally about a 5% counter clockwise adjustment of the pro 2096's VR3 will suffice but your adjustment may vary.

If you dont hear an annoying noise that way, do a search for these Clinton control frequencies 851.725 852.225 852.725
Wile very annoying, you would adjust till the sound gets loudest and clearest.

do a search for these Clinton control frequencies 851.725 852.225 852.725
The database also shows 853.1875 as control channel capable. Do you have all 4 of those frequencies in the Clinton County site? What programming software are you using? Please attach your programming file so that we can take a look at it. You will need to zip the file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.

The OP never mentioned that his "local frequencies" were P25 or part of a trunked system.

OP, please tell us with what frequencies or system(s) you're having problems.
