I just got a pro-90 scanner a few days ago but am having problems programming trunked frequencies into it, I hit trunk and it blinks and I program the control channels and hit search and it says error, but than if I exit trunking mode I can program those frequencies normally but there is no transmissions, I am trying trying to program the following:

Site Name Freqs
001 Primary 935.21250 936.17500c 936.22500c 936.63750 938.17500

like i said i am under Atlantic county in NJ and it says those, along with all the other casino/hotels in the area are trunked, am i doing something wrong? if so could someone guide me as what to do? i had a old pro-76 scanner but decided to upgrade, i know now that i should have went with one i could program over the computer, but i already bouhgt this so i am going to try and see, with your help, if i can do it on my own, if not i might sell my old pro-76 and the pro-90 and buy something i can program over the computer

thanks so much for ANY and all help, and please move if this is in the wrong area of the forums

The Pro90 is a BC235 clone - it will not trunk 900 Mhz systems (only 800 Mhz analog Motorola systems). You need a much more up to date scanner for this. Heck, even an old and venerable BC245 will do it.

well i am home from work and tried these:

851.06250a 02 851.73750 03 852.38750c 04 852.97500 05 853.25000 06 853.85000 07 853.70000

a few work in conventional mode but i can't get any to find a control channel in trunked mode, with the ones i posted above i get an error when trying them in trunked mode but i can program them in conventional mode but i never hear anything..

You can post for sale items in the appropriate forum. You probably didn't notice that the 94 won't do alpha tags - that is to say, it won't show you text IDing the frequency. You might want to ask what folks are using in the NJ forum or in the Phillyscanner Yahoo group (which covers Atlantic county NJ). They can, no doubt, recommend something inexpensive to hear that system. 73 Mike

The scanner frequency range covers 900MHz trunked system range but the user
manual I have only makes reference to 800MHz systems. This was the *first*
trunk-tracking scanner, and somewhat limited in capability these days. I have
no 900MHz trunking in my area but still lots of 800MHz analog, so mine still
gets regular use.

I'd ask around before getting a PRO-94 (check that it does 900MHz, not sure).
Also, one complaint was terrible audio from the built-in speaker.
