Ok, first and foremost...I am completely ignorant when it comes to this scanner and obviously how to do anything with it correctly when trunking.
I have no problem with VHF, UHF or WX but I cant get the 800s to work.

I swear I have all the required freqs in there correctly, banks are open(+), no lockouts and now I'm stuck.
It worked once upon a time and has sat in a drawer for over a year now and none of the existing freqs will receive.
I've deleted, re-entered, deleted and re-entered again. I even went in and added the talk groups for those freqs an still nothing.
Any suggestions for a super lamen?

You should be able to program a frequency in, park the scanner on that channel and listen to it. I would start by trying to pick up the active control channel frequency of the trunked system you want to monitor. If you are not receiving that, either your scanner is broken or you do not have the correct frequency entered.

It is possible for the scanner to receive in all the other bands and have a defect with 800MHz, but not too common from what I've seen. I'd try listening to the control channel of any trunked system in your area and/or 800MHz conventional channels just to confirm the scanner receives.

If you get to the point that you are receiving the control channel and still can't get it to work, please ID the system you are trying to monitor. A link to the DB would be helpful as well.

Since it was working before you put it away, and now it isn't, the first thing that comes to mind to me is that maybe the system you are wanting to listen to has been re-banded during the time period the radio has been stored. As gmclam said, it would be helpful to know which system you are trying to hear.

In case you don't still have the user's manual, here's a link to it:
