This may have been answered before but I couldnt find the answer when I searched the forum. If you are in "ID hold mode" on a TG and while you are in this mode the control channel on the system switches from the promary control channel to an alternate control channel will the Pro-96 figure this out and continue to monitor the TG on the new control channel or will it be stuck waiting for a signal from the original control channel?

I havent had that to happen on a type II, BUT, on older type I systems that may have 5 channels then to be safe program all 5. On this type system it may use 4 of the 5 as a controller on a rotation.

I understand that. I have all 4 Control Channels programmed but Im asking if when the control channel switches if you are in talkroup hold mode will the scanner realize the control channel has changed and continue to monitor the tg or do you have to take the scanner out of hold mode and lock onto the tg again with the new cc. By the way the cc on this system doesnt rotate normally but the radio techs do change it for maint. and testing purposes from time to time. It is a 3600 Baud APCO-25 system.

If you know when your local system switches control channels (most are on regular schedules), TRY IT. A while before it switches, hold an ID and see if that ID is still active after the switch is made.

Then, of course, let us know on the board. 8)

Or take the antenna off and put it back on... There's no problem for the radio - I have two CC's in my area and when I hold the ID it'll pop up on either tower.

Thanks for the replies. My system doesnt seem to do it regularly however the radio techs were rotating between the four control channels over a period of an hour yesterday. I agree when it looses a control channel due to lack of signal it regains it but Ive never had to worry about rotating control channels. I guess we will have to see what happens next time they switch the control channel. Thanks for your help guys and I will let you know what I find out next time this happens.
