OK I have had my Pro 97 for about a year now..Absolutely LOVE IT. Got all my banks sorted and talk group ID's labled with text ID's... all by manual input....yes i know i reeaallllyy should have bought the spftware and done it.....

Anyway I see the Pro 96 is out and right now in the tarrant county, TX area there is only a few systems that interest me that use digital....however there is talk that a neighboring county and the western half of tarrant county are currently in process of getting a grant to go to digital apco 25.......PROBLEM....it appears that there is a large chunk of 200 mhz frequencies missing from the freq bands in the pro 96.... i currently get those bands with the 97.....am i correct in this assumption and i have to chose which one i want.... either the 200 mhz freq (which alot of air uses in this area that i monitor).... or go digital just to be ready for the future?

obviously

of course thats the obvious answer. I guess my question should have been more of a statement. It never fails that every new thing cuts something good about the one replaces. I just didnt want to carry two scanners really.

You didn't clarify which 200 MHz you're missing. Isn't the '97 great? LOL. I think you need the new GRE digital scanner instead of the '96.
