I'd contact that seller above (the Pacific Coast Parts) and ask about the shipping. I did include that little tidbit (the entire original post from the Pro-97 group was in italics) about even though their shipping calculator says more, they realistically had only been charging $3 to ship those two tiny knobs. Can't hurt to send 'em an email and ask, right?

Just talked to customer service there, and he said the minimum shipping cost is $7.50. That is still outrageous... according to him, I have to put "Attention Jill" in the special notes box to get the shipping cost down to $7.50.

Would it be a good idea to go ahead and put all my frequencies into Win-97 ahead of time?

wont hurt

Might Consider if you don't want to purchase Win97..that that will of course activate the Trial Period before you get your scanner.

Okay I'm doing that now. I bought the premium subscription, and I THINK I'm loading them into Win97 correctly... I guess I will find out tomorrow!

Just zip it and post it here if you can't make a zip file simply rename it xxx.p97.zip

From what I see it looks fine, the only thing that might cause a problem is the priority being on so it will check that frequency every few seconds and may interrupt. It's not supposed to while trunking but that's not always the case.

Okay - I just put that in there to try it out. I'll take it off if it doesnt work. I originally threw all the freq's in banks 2-9 into ONE bank, and had to separate them all.

Thanks for checking.

Listening to the JFK airport Tower now through the internet... pretty cool :)

You could put all the conventional together, but it's easier to control things in different banks.
JFK should be interesting spent a lot of time there in my youth, with a camera and a tunable airband radio. There was generally someone out on the observation deck or tower with a fairly good radio was well. One thing I remember was up in the observation area of the tower there was always someone with a handheld radio watching the parking lots.

Yeah it was neat listening, but a lot of them talked way too fast for me.

Does the screen on the scanner display the Bank name AND Alpha Tag?
