Hey guys I’m in Ontario, Canada and I’m having some issues with my 2096 base. I put in all the tower freqs reds first, then blue, then the left over blacks just in case, why not. So I’m picking up some type of ambulance it’s coming up as Id like 35588 and on one channel.

It’s just static and weird sounds, lol not tone paging I know that sound. And it’s the red channel so the primary. But the other channnels in black are picking up with id numbers.

Also, if I put it on scan it’s scanning the banks but not picking anything up. I manually added the above ones and it worked out. But the programmed ones aren’t working. Anything???? Again in Central Ontario Canada

And it started getting really staticy and making the noises so I locked it out and then the other channels started picking up in MO as well in the right corner.

You need to learn the difference.
Where did you get your frequencies from?

It sounds like you programmed as conventional and its scanning the channels conventionally one at a time - when it hits the control channel you are hearing the CC noise.

You also need to set the trunking system to use a custom VHF bandplan....

Use Plan 1 and Plan 2.
Plan 2 will let you trunktrack Mowat (Toronto) properly.
