Thanks

Are you useing software to program it or are you doing it by hand, anyways you have paid good money for you scanner, and if you have not yet you should spend a little more buy the cable radio shack sells one the gray one it can be found for less on the internet just make sure that the cable will work on your PC USB or serial then after you get the cable down load win 97 it is free for 30 days and then you will be able to do the web import thing from this web site after you do the donate thing here I dont work for radio shack or this web site i just know what works, this scanner can be a pain in the you know what but it is a great scanner. you should goto the software form here and you can read more about win 97.here is the link i will look back here and see if you need more help good luck

I have played with the software and if it work it is a whole lot easyer than doing it by hand. I order a cable on line a couple of days ago. When it get here I will try to download the information straight to it.

Should I change my recieve mode from FM to MO for each freq. on a Motorlora (sp) trunk bank?

Yes each frequency for a trunked system should be set to MO next to it.

I am having the same problem.
Pro97, and I am trying to program a Motorola Type II Smartnet system,
of Fayette County, PA.
I have the four control channels in and system set to MO all the IDs in and still can't hear anything.
I have it in my pro 96 and still nothing. Nothing else programed in the bank.
I do have win96 and win97 for programing.

Thanks
J

I am trying to receive the same system. It is like the scanner will only scan conventional and not scan truncated.

Okay, lets establish that you have at least a control channel programmed.

Go to the bank that you have the system programmed in, and in MANual mode, go through each frequency, if you get to a frequency that has a loud buzz on it (the control channel) make sure you have not locked it out, also sit on it and make sure it is the system you are after. It will tell you about the system on the display, that information should line up with some of the information in the system Info block of the Fayette County PA Public Safety System here on the site.

If you don't get the loud buzz, then you are missing the control channel, if you do get it but have locked it out, unlock it. If the system ID doesn't match 4e24, you have the wrong system programmed.

Now assuming you do have the buzz, and it is not locked out, make sure the frequency says +MO in the upper right corner, if it says -MO press <Func> + <5> to change it to +MO. If it does not say MO, press <MODE> until it does. Check to make sure the bank is set to Motorola, press <PGM> + <TRUNK> and see if it says the mode is Motorola, if not then press the <MODE> button until it says Motorola, then recheck the first part of this para.

If all is fine to this point, press <SCAN> and wait a bit, sooner or later (providing there is activity) you should hear someone talk. Let us know.

Thank you very much loumaag. Problem resolved.

I had the radios in a null and after trying what you recomended was able to find a sweet spot.

I was suprised that my programing was ok.

My pro 96 and 97 show (4e24) but my pro95 shows (control).

Is that whata 95 should show?

Again thanks a million
