Hello board. I am another newbee with a Pro 95. I try to learn as much as I can reading the many posts that go on this wonderful message board. I love my pro 95, but I know there is a lot more I need to learn before I can use and enjoy my scanner to the max. To start with some win 95 questions, can some one "please explain" how the ""Channel Page"" window is used? How is the "AlfaTag" 1 to 20 used, how is the 0 to 4 "check box" used and how is the top right hand side used? Motorola 800mhz, normal or offset "check box" used, and how is the mot. uhf-lo setting box used, and how is the base freq offset and step size khz box used.
Now for my last question, for now. I read that one can progam mil/air in your Pro 95 scanner with the win 95 program. I live next to a Air Force base and that would be a blessing know how to progam the mil/air freqs in my scanner. Any help will be apreciated. Have a Blessed day. Ed

OK to make this simple-

You do not worry about base and offset unless your proramming in an UHF, or VHF Hi Motorola System.

All you have to do is this....

For a military base-
Lets pretend this is an Air Force Base and you just want to hear the jet jocks in flight.

Go to Win95
Click on Channels
Go to the NAME text box
Type in a name that you want to use for this storage bank.
Go over to where you see Closed.... Don't worry about that just yet.... Now go over to Type.
Click it to Conventional
Go down to your Frequency Slots.
Type in the freqs you want to hear one by one....

Say its these.
121.5
243.0
338.250
288.575
119.800

Then go over to RX Mode
Click it to AM as these are all aviation freqs, which are in AM mode.
Then go back to the first slots which are for your Alpha Tags.... AKA the name you want to see displayed for the freqs.
Enter these for each one.
Lets say-
VHF Gaurd
UHF Gaurd
Tower
TRACON
Clearance
Ground

Now go over to the Delay checkboxes.
If you want to have a delay set then make sure the boxes are black.
Then Go to the Atten checkboxes.... This is your Attenuation Function....
Depending on if you want to make your scanner get weaker, or stronger signals, this is what you use to tell it that. Blacken it if you want to ONLY get strong signals.
The LOut is self explanatory- Thats the Lock Out box.
Now go back up once you have all the freqs you want in this bank.
Remember I siad before do not worry about Closed.. Now its time to worry about it. To only see the tags you programmed for the freqs your programmed, ... Click Closed setting the bank in CLOSED MODE.

Next comes the explanation on the trunking function as this would apply to the radio system used most likely on the base....

But before we go there- *NOTE* Most military Installations use iether a mixed digital/analog, or pure digital system. The PRO-95 will NOT let you understand the digital portins, you will only hear noise. The PRO-95 can ONLY do analog.
