How do you program Trunking Freq's from this site manualy into the Pro 106?
I'm just a little confused with your question, Wahoos4Life. I'm sure you have your reason for wanting to manually program your Pro-106, but why? You have a Premium Membership which allows you to import systems from the Database and it is sooooo much easier than trying to do it manually. Of course, doing it manually gives you the knowledge to "fix" things in the field if something should go awry, but using the import ability of any of the programming software to populate your scanner makes way more sense. The only thing you may not have is the USB cord (available from Radio Shack) to make the connection from computer to scanner and all the programming software offer a 30-day test drive which would allow you to get your scanner programmed.

Programming by hand takes a long time. But hey, I have programmed TWO VFolders already by hand.

I wouldnt do this unless I had a LOT of time to waste. For another 65 bucks you can BUY the Win500 SW and the RS cable and save HOURS of time. Knowing some basic key commands is not a bad thing but programming one from the ground up would not be smart without software.

Frankly it isn't too difficult to plug in a trunked system IF its a motorola P25. Just look up the control freqs on RR, push the TUNE button on the scanner, plug in a CC(highlighted in red), wait for some response on that frequency(trunking info should pop up on the screen), press F3(store), the scanner will do the rest.
Then you can edit the TS and add the other control frequencies, if there are any.
After you've got it up and running, just hit F3 everytime a new ID comes up, and you will get a seperate channel stored on your scanner for that company or government org.
Before I knew what I was doing, I tried just plugging in everything manually from the website(too cheap to buy a subscription) and it was a pain in the butt( even with software). If its a P25 though, there will probably only be a couple control frequencies, and the scanner will take care of the rest.
For LTR, it is also possible to a basically good enough job, following the above steps, but there may be more work involved. Perhaps a LOT more work involved. Same for EDACS.
The trick is finding the active control frequency on P25. LTR and EDACS do not have a control frequency per se but you should be able to find the most active frequency for the target.
Your mileage may vary.
Good luck.

As others on this Forum have posted you must us software to get the full use of the PRO-106. WIN500 works very well, as all of Don's programs do. It is nice to be able to make small changes by hand, but the 106 has way too much memory to fill up by hand

EDACS does have a control channel, but the freqs must be entered in LCN. A link to the Wiki on this site is below. LTR doesn't have a contol channel, I have also provided a link to this type of trunking.

EDACS has a control channel, the only thing with EDACS is you have to program in LCN, where as a P25 or Moto analog system you only have to program in the control channel's. You can use automove HR's for an LTR system so you don't have to put in LCN.

Programming by hand isn't that bad it's just time consuming, it's that way with any scanner though.
PGM-NEW-TGRP-select the scanlist you would like the talkgroup to be associated with by pressing SEL and an asterik will appear by the number(default is 1)-scroll down one to TSYS and go left or right till you get to new then press select, then select what type of system it is-scroll down one and give the system a name if you want to-scroll down one and enter the control channel freqs or the LCN-now just save and save and you have now created a wildcard TG for whatever system you are trying to scan. You can change the expert settings as you like.
